Read, Write, Now

For youth, ages 6-14. This one- week program is designed to improve participants' reading and writing skills, increase legibility and vocabulary, and enhance self-esteem and confidence. The program will help instill a passion for reading, writing and learning. Read, Write, Now and you will succeed. Brenda Johnson, a certified reading teacher will teach the program.

Explorer - " Are We There Yet?"

For youth, ages 6- 12. This program is designed to teach participants how: to use a map; which route to take to a destination; and the distance and time to the location. In addition, participants will be taught to identity the 50 states, the 7 continents and 4 oceans on a globe. Take a journey with us to several imaginary destinations. This exciting program will be taught by Darya Dismuke, an elementary teacher. AVAILABILITY IS LIMITED. This program can only accommodate 30 participants.

Social Intervention

Mandatory sessions precede all athletic activities. Cartersville/ Bartow County and metro area leaders will teach the sessions.

Group Field Trip

A field trip may be provided. Check with the program instructors for further details. The field trips are free. All participants must fill out and return a signed parent/guardian permission slip before the date of the field trip. Free lunches will be provided.

Science

For youth, ages 9 -14 (only). Twyla Hinton, a certified middle-grade Science Teacher, will teach the camp. We are targeting fourth - ninth graders youth because the Science Camp will help them develop an interest in Science, sharpen math skills and develop skills with metric measurements.
